Approach

  • …from section 2.14 of the Ethics code which states "Behavior analysts select, design and implement behavior-change interventions that...best meet the diverse needs, context, and resources of the client and stakeholders." I love the creativity/flexibility I get to have as a BCBA to figure out how ABA best fits into the client and caregiver's lives and sets them up for success. It is the BCBA's responsibility to learn from the family what their specific needs and goals are. I believe in truly individualized goal writing and making programs as functional for the client as possible. For example, if we are working on tacting food items, using stimuli (or pictures of stimuli) straight from the individual's refrigerator, school cafeteria, favorite restaurant, or grocery store will generalize and maintain because parents and other caregivers will naturally reinforce outside of sessions. Description text goes here

Meet the Team

A smiling woman with long dark hair, glasses, and tattoos on her arms, sitting indoors with a plant in the background.
  • My name is Mariah Jensen, MA, BCBA, and I am the owner of Joyful ABA, a solo, locally owned practice serving families throughout the Central Valley. I have 8 years of experience in the field of applied behavior analysis (ABA), including 4+ years as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). I hold both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Psychology with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis from California State University, Fresno.

I specialize in early intervention, picky eating, assessment and behavior reduction of severe problem behavior, and building independence skills for adolescents and adults. A core focus of my work is caregiver coaching and collaboration to build confidence, promote generalization of skills, and develop practical strategies that fit naturally into daily family routines.
